Item Description in the inventory

The Fox Lamp is a Legendary sword.

The Fox Lamp is known for its stun ability and extremely fast [M1] attacks. It can be used to extend or initiate combos with its [Z] Scorching Azure move. Fox Lamp is a powerful sword for PvP as well, having long stuns, Instinct breaks, high damage, and good combo potential, as well as great synergy with almost any fighting style. These traits make it very versatile, allowing it to work with any stat build.

Its [M1] attacks make it a decent option for grinding with Buddha because of their short cooldown. However, its skills lack AoE and proper stun for efficient grinding.

Obtainment

The Fox Lamp has a chance to be rewarded by the Kitsune Shrine upon offering 15 Azure Embers or more to the Kitsune Shrine during the Blue Moon.

Azure Latch
The user summons a rotating ring of blue letters that envelop the player. Once released, the azure embers swiftly move towards the target aimed at the cursor's location. Upon contact with an enemy, the azure embers inflict multiple slashing attacks before propelling the enemy into the air, resulting in a powerful explosion. If held, the letters transform into blue spheres that rotate around the player, though this is just a visual change and does not affect damage.

Infernal FireStorm Held
This ability consists of two variations:
  • When tapped:
    • User swiftly dashes toward the target and unleashes a beam of intense blue fire, pushing the target backward.
  • When held:
    • User releases a massive beam of fire, pushing the enemy away. The user then finishes the move by dashing through the opponent and landing a single slicing attack. This move is similar to Ghost [C], awakened Flame [X], and Sound [X].

Cons
General
  • Cannot hit Blade users.
  • Requires good aiming ability and quick reaction.
  • Difficult to obtain.
  • High mastery requirements.
  • Both moves can be Instinct tricked.
[Z] Scorching Azure
  • The knockback trajectory can make combos more difficult, such as having to aim Godhuman's [Z] Soaring Beast at the enemy.
  • Single target.
  • Can be dodged if not aimed correctly.
  • Requires precise aim.
  • Does not true-stun, meaning the target can still move and use abilities if they Instinct-trick this attack.
[X] Infernal Firestorm
  • Mediocre range.
  • After holding and rushing to the target, a small delay makes it possible for enemies to use Flash Step.
  • Enemies can punish the player if they hold the skill for too long.
  • The blue flame doesn't true-stun in either the hold or tap versions, meaning the target can counterattack during the ability's duration if they use Instinct Trick.

Trivia

  • The Fox Lamp is more recommended for grinding by pairing it with Buddha.
  • The Fox Lamp does not turn black when Aura is active, though Aura colors still appear (Similar to the Shark Anchor).
  • Despite being a sword, the Fox Lamp resembles a lantern rather than a blade.
  • The Japanese symbols (キツネ) shown when charging [Z] Scorching Azure and [X] Infernal Firestorm (The player can briefly see the symbols as it is spun at a very fast speed), mean "Kitsune" which when translated means "Fox" in English ("Kitsune" can also be written as the kanji character "狐").
  • [X] Infernal Firestorm, when tapped, bears a slight resemblance to Dragon Talon's [Z] move, Talon Lighter.
    • Fox Lamp's [M1] attacks' sound effect is similar to Dragon Breath and Dragon Talon, but with a slightly lower pitch and slightly reverbed.
