Description in the shop

Gas is a Mythical Elemental-type Blox Fruit that costs $ 3,200,000 or R$ 2,500 from the Blox Fruit Dealer.

Gas allows the user to create, become, and manipulate concentrated and flammable gas, unleashing devastating attacks against unfortunate foes. The user also gains a purely cosmetic ring of purple fumes. Additionally, they can condense the vapor they produce, transforming into a towering and powerful gas knight, as mentioned in the quote above. This transformation drastically enhances and alters their attacks while also granting the ability to stand and walk on water, similar to Ice, Yeti, Magma, Control, and Buddha(Awakened)

In its physical form, Gas is a fairly valuable trade item and is highly sought after. The fruit boasts extremely high AoE, strong damage output, and excellent combo potential. While the untransformed version’s AoE is somewhat bad , the transformed form shines as one of the best tanks and anti-team fruits in the game, thanks to its huge AoE, spammable abilities, and overall great damage. These traits make Gas a solid choice for grinding, Raids, and Dungeons.

While Gas is a great fruit grinding for all seas due to its elemental immunity and [M1] attacks, it is recommended to use the [M1] only four times and wait ~1.5 seconds while untransformed to avoid the high knockback on the last [M1] making the early grind without transformation easier.

Gas excels in Sea Events thanks to its ability to stand and walk on water, short cooldowns, and high damage output. Both of its [M1] attacks can also damage Sea Beasts, making it even more effective. Because Gas users can stand on water, it is recommended to equip the Leviathan Crown to improve drop rates and further boost its already high damage. Pairing this with the Ghoul Race’s V3 Ability allows for extremely fast cooldowns, enabling ability spam and maximizing damage output. However, this strategy carries some risk — missing attacks can quickly deplete the user's Gas Meter.

Abilities

Name Description Showcase
Gas Meter
The user passively gains gas. Additionally, the user gains gas by dealing damage to any NPC/player. The user can transform when the gas meter is full. In the untransformed state, the user cannot lose any of their gas meter. However, in the transformed state, the user passively consumes gas, consumption increasing when taking damage or using any attacks including the [M1] attacks. The consumption also increases while walking on water. This passive feature is very similar to the Fury Meter. Gas Meter
Elemental Reflex
The fruit user can turn themselves into purple gas and smog, thus being unable to be hurt by any physical attacks (fighting style, sword, gun) from players unless the attacks are imbued with Aura. Unlike other transformations, this passive also applies when transformed as a Gas Knight. Against NPCs, this immunity applies only if the player is a certain level above them. This effect is only effective against non-boss enemies. Gas Reflex
Condensed Vapor
When Transformed as a huge Gas Knight, the user receives a 50% damage reduction. 33% speed increase and double jump height, double dash distance, and double movement speed. The user also gains the ability to stand and walk on water, similar to awakened Buddha.

The user manifests a sword of gas, then swings it left and right, creating pink, circular slashes. The third and fourth swings are flurries of gaseous strikes that damage and pull in enemies, and the cycle ends with a final blue, fiery blast that knocks the target away, leaving a black soot mark on the floor.

The user amasses violet gas around them into a spinning vortex as they turn into a gas knight, wielding a vapor sword, while pulling in any enemies nearby, similar to the [X] move. The transformed Gas user will have a ring of smog around them, as gas is released out of the user while transformed, draining the user's gas meter passively. The user also leaves behind bluish smog when dashing or sky jumping.

The user transforms their legs into gas and launches themselves in the air to fly. This move has a variant in a small time frame that can be activated if the user points their cursor at an enemy. The user will instead be launched at a high speed towards the target, damaging them upon impact and then reverting back to normal flight and the move can be held like the normal. This variant can be triggered and used only during the start of the flight.
  • The damaging variant of this move also activates if there are any players nearby, even if the user can't attack that player.

The user does a series of slashes from their sword that vary from left to right, and finally, they collect a huge amount of gas that combusts, launching the enemy very far away.
  • Each slash drains a certain amount of Gas Meter, so aiming before hitting is recommended to preserve and regenerate the Gas Meter.
  • This ability can infinitely stun enemies if the user brings them to a tall enough wall and runs backwards while spamming them. This also works on Terrorsharks, making it extremely effective in killing them.

The user sets suffocating and combustible fumes onto a large area that will deal tick damage to those standing in the area, disabling dashing, jumping and abilities as the enemy is too busy being suffocated, slightly healing the user. This also disorients any victim's screen.
  • When the user's cursor hovers over a very far away piece of land, the fumes can still land on that surface, indicating that this has a lot of range.
  • This move can be used in the air, making it a good counter to slow moving Dragons that will most likely stand still in the fumes trying to aim a move, and get their move canceled by the fumes, giving the user an opportunity to strike back with the [X] or [C] move.

The user fires a huge beam of gas that combusts, quickly sweeping it to the left, causing a large explosion and thrashing the screen of anyone nearby, leaving behind a scorch mark on the floor. If the Beam from [X] travels through the fumes of the [Z] move, it will violently explode dealing extra AOE damage.
  • If the user uses this move in the air, they cannot hit enemies below or above them. Enemies that stand very close to the user can also dodge the explosion.
  • When used in a tight space, the beam will bounce off the wall and overlap the area of the explosion it had just passed through.

    Trivia

    • Gas has been nominated to be added to the game since Update 13.
    • There is a bug where if the user looks up and uses [F] Traveling Gas untransformed while in the water, they will instantly teleport high up the map, leading to unfair escapes.
    • Gas is the most expensive Elemental fruit in the game as of Update 24.
    • Gas' Elemental Immunity SFX is the same as Smoke's Elemental Immunity SFX.
    • [X] Bursting Vapor is locked at the players location, meaning it follows the player for the move's duration.
    • Gas is the first and only Elemental fruit that has a transformation.
      • Gas is also the fourth non-beast type fruit to have a transformation, the others being Venom, Rubber, and Diamond.
    • Gas is the second Mythical fruit that is Elemental, the first one being Dough.
    • [F] Traveling Gas has the capability to cancel Light's [F] Light Flight move.
    • Gas can infinitely stun Terrorsharks and other difficult bosses such as Cake Queen with its M1s, though a corner is needed for this to work on normal bosses and NPCs.
    • Gas is regarded as one of the best fruits for Raids, though the M1 for this fruit will severely slow down a Raid if not used correctly.
    • It takes 5 minutes and 30 seconds to fill the Gas Meter without doing any damage.
      • Using the Kitsune Mask, this can be reduced down to 3 minutes and 12 seconds, making it extremely useful if the user transforms often.
    • Gas's transformation lasts for 10 minutes (a full day cycle) if the user did not deal any damage to other enemies/players.
    • Gas is one of the three Elemental fruits to not have an awakening, along with Smoke and Blizzard.
    • When used [C] Smog Demons untransformed move against a Sea Beast, they heat seek to the bottom of it, indicating that right below the water in the area below its chin is its main hitbox, explaining why they cannot be hit when they are about to dive.
    • Gas is the only Elemental fruit to have a Power Meter. The Gas meter is equivalent to Kitsune's Tail meter in terms of how long it takes to fill up, which is about 3 normal fury meters.
    • The transformed version sometimes has Air Jumping bugs, which makes the user unable to jump.
      • Similar to other transformations, there is a bug where by using excessively small avatar bundles while using Gas's transformation, the user's air dashes will reach extremely far and ground dashes will be snappy.
      • Additionally, there is also another bug where these small avatar bundles will cause the [Z] Suffocating Fumes, [X] Bursting Vapor, and [F] Traveling Gas abilities to allow the user to walk freely while using Gas on the ground.
      • Gas, when transformed is incredibly fast, it can even outrun a Transformed Kitsune if dashing.
