Information

  • Codes for double EXP can be found on the Codes page.
  • Levels at which the Elemental reflex activates can be found on the Elemental page.
    • Elemental reflex can be used as an alternative to Buddha, especially in the First Sea, since the Level requirements for Elemental reflex to activate are relatively low.
    • Light is recommended through the First Sea, as its [F] ability allows for faster travel and yields higher damage compared to other options such as Ice.
    • Using a Private Server for grinding is also recommended, as players are likely to be attacked by other players, especially in the late game. Free private servers can be found on the Private Servers page.
  • When grinding mastery on any weapon or Fighting Style, using an auto-clicker set to no more than 800 milliseconds is recommended.
    • Using an Elemental fruit while doing this can be useful, as Elemental Reflex prevents the player from taking damage.
  • Elemental fruits are recommended throughout the First Sea, especially Light, due to its fast flight, which helps players travel between islands quickly. Through the Second Sea and Third Sea, awakening Buddha's [Z] ability to its V2 form is recommended, as it provides a weapon hitbox eight times larger and 55% overall damage reduction.
  • When using Buddha V2 for grinding, maxing out the Melee stat first is recommended, since Buddha V2 takes 55% less damage. Melee stats are recommended over Swords, as this removes the need to invest points into the Sword stat, and Fighting Styles benefit from Ghoul race and Ghoul Mask life leech, unlike Swords.
  • To reach max Level as quickly as possible, staying on Buddha until reaching max Level is recommended.
  • PvP is not recommended unless the player's Melee stat is level 600 or above, with defense and main damage stats maxed out. PvP is difficult until the player is stronger at later levels, and it does not grant any benefits for grinding or PvE.
  • While Bounty and Honor does increase defense and damage, it is not needed when grinding, since it only affects PvP, not PvE.
  • In the Third Sea, grinding at Haunted Castle for Bones is recommended, and defeating the Death King when it appears has a chance to grant a 2x EXP boost.
  • Galley Pirates can be farmed at Lv. 1 to provide a large boost to leveling, known as the Fountain Strategy. This strategy is effective until around Lv. 60, after which it becomes less useful. Moves with knockback should be avoided, as they can cause the enemy to use its long-range attack, which can defeat the player instantly.
  • Blade can be used as an inexpensive alternative to Elemental fruits early game (it can be purchased for $ 30,000 and is usually in stock), since many enemies in the First Sea use Swords.
  • Knockback moves significantly slow down grinding and should be avoided when possible.
  • Boss hopping refers to the practice of server hopping until a server with an available boss is found, allowing the player to complete boss Quests more quickly. This is done because boss respawn times are much longer, and boss Quests give additional Experience and Money.
  • Near max level, maxing out Blox Fruit and Defense stats while investing less in Melee can be beneficial.
  • Relying on fishing for EXP is not recommended, as it is inefficient compared to doing quests. Fishing takes approximately 30–60 seconds per attempt and grants only a 25% EXP boost, while quests usually take one to two minutes.

Stats

When using a simple Buddha or Elemental fruit build, Stats should generally be split 50% into Melee and Defense and 50% into main damage output (this does not apply to Buddha). This split does not need to be exact.

If using Buddha

  • Buddha is widely considered one of the best fruits for grinding, whether awakened or unawakened, as both forms provide increased M1 range and increased defense.
    • Recommended Stats build: For each Level gained, two points should go to Melee and one to Defense. Once Melee is maxed, the remaining points should go to Defense; players who want to continue using Buddha as their main fruit can then max out Swords.
    • Players who have already obtained Instinct and are around Level 300 or higher (not recommended below Level 200) can instead put five to ten points into Melee for every one point into Defense. This provides strong damage and makes it easier to defeat NPCs, with Melee reaching its cap around Lv. 1000. Players who prefer more health can use a four-to-one ratio instead, which caps Melee around Level 1200; grouping NPCs becomes more difficult with lower health.
    • Placing points into Swords, Guns, or Blox Fruits is not recommended at this stage, since Fighting Styles will be the primary damage source and benefit from more Energy and Life Leech with the Ghoul race and Ghoul Mask, unlike Swords. (Buddha and Guns moves are generally not effective for grinding, with the exception of Buddha V, which can be used to group nearby enemies.)
    • The Ghoul race and Ghoul Mask are recommended, as their high life leech allows players to solo Raids and Bosses with Fighting Styles earlier than usual.

If using any Elemental

  • When using an Elemental fruit with an M1 ability, such as Light or Ice, around 25% of stat points should go into Melee, 25% into Defense, and 50% into Blox Fruits. Alternatively, a 75% Melee / 25% Defense split avoids the need to reallocate Stats later when obtaining Buddha.

If using any Natural or Beast

  • When using Beast- or Natural-type fruits, timing is important. When using a fruit such as Rubber, Quake, or Phoenix, grouping nearby NPCs together helps ensure maximum damage output and grinding efficiency.
    • Using Air Jump effectively is also important, as most NPCs cannot damage the player in the air. This pairs well with the fact that most Natural- and Beast-type fruits, such as Rubber, Quake, and Phoenix, have attacks that can be held and aimed, allowing the user to levitate until released.
    • Using Buddha or Elemental fruits is faster in the short term for grinding, but Natural and Beast fruits are generally more versatile, offering stronger AoE, damage-over-time, stun, and overall damage.
    • When dealing with knockback, finding the optimal distance to minimize it is important. For example, Rubber's Cannon move deals reduced knockback when aimed directly at an enemy's torso from roughly three dashes away. When using a fruit such as Rubber or Quake, jumping above NPCs before attacking can help minimize knockback.
    • Players who obtain a T-Rex, Kitsune, or Dragon fruit β€” whether through Robux purchase or the Gacha/Dealer β€” should use the M1 attack to its full potential for PvE, since these fruits have greater range than most Fighting Styles and Swords, making them effective for grinding. These fruits are also versatile in PvP, and Kitsune additionally offers strong ranged and AoE attacks useful for grinding. Combining M1 attacks with other moves can help, though focusing primarily on M1 is recommended. Repeatedly spam-clicking M1 without variation should be avoided, as this sends enemies further away and increases knockback. Using Mythical fruits with high mastery requirements and no M1 attacks is not recommended, as they are difficult to grind with.

Build

The player's build (Fighting Style, Sword, Gun, and Fruit) determines how quickly they will grind and level up. The builds below are recommended for reaching max level as quickly as possible.

First Sea

Second Sea

Note: This build refers to Buddha V2, or Awakened Buddha. Only the first move needs to be awakened in Raids (Z/Shift) for the hitbox and range buffs.

Third Sea

Summary

Using an Elemental fruit is recommended for maximum grinding efficiency. Light is recommended in the First Sea, after which switching to Buddha around Level 775, or upon entering the Second Sea, is recommended until max Level. Buddha is also a strong early-game option for players who want V2 Fighting Styles such as Death Step or Sharkman Karate, or who prefer not to reobtain Buddha later. Players may switch to a PvP-focused fruit such as Tiger or Dough around Level 2250–2800, as PvP typically becomes the focus by that point.

Cheesing refers to the method of easily defeating a boss by exploiting the terrain it is in, or by using specific techniques with available fruits or weapons, such as the old Barrier [Z] Barrier Wall move. Sky camping is also considered a form of cheesing. Additional cheesing techniques may be described elsewhere on this or other pages.

To scroll through the second bar in the tabber, holding shift while scrolling with the mouse wheel allows horizontal scrolling.

2x EXP Codes are recommended to maximize grinding output and reach other Locations more quickly. These can be found on the Codes page.

For guidance on reaching the Second Sea, see Accessing the Second Sea. For the Third Sea, see Accessing the Third Sea.

Locations

Elemental requirements do not apply to the Buddha Fruit. This makes grinding significantly easier, as players can use melee or sword [M1] attacks to deal damage from a distance while deflecting incoming attacks, preventing enemies from retaliating. Despite this advantage, it is still recommended to follow this guide, as certain NPCs remain difficult or inefficient to grind, even when using Buddha.

Level boost: Fountain Strategy

This strategy can be used to gain a large boost in EXP without needing to grind in the starter islands, the jungle, or part of Pirate Village.

  1. Reach Level 10.
  2. Head to Fountain City.
  3. Hit a Galley Pirate and retreat behind the wall.
  4. Continue attacking the Galley Pirate, and when it is low on health, use a 2x EXP code and defeat it.
  5. Put stat points into Melee.
  6. Repeat until Level 55, at which point the Chef boss can be grinded immediately.
  • A second player can weaken the target while the other lands the final hit, if desired.

Description

This strategy can be used to quickly level up and reach the Second Sea.

Overview

Depending on the player's level, the boss or NPC matching that level below should be fought. Once complete, the player should move on to the next entry.

Following these steps leads to the Second Sea using the fastest and most time-efficient route.

Description

This strategy can be used to quickly level up and reach the Second Sea by primarily using server hopping to find bosses.

How to Server Hop

Server hopping can be done using the "Servers" button at the top of the screen, or by leaving and rejoining the game. The player should then defeat the boss and server hop again.

Overview

Depending on the player's level, the boss or NPC matching that level below should be fought. Once complete, the player should move on to the next entry.

  • Level 1–10: Grind the Bandit or Marine NPCs until Level 10.
  • Level 10–55: Reach Level 55 using the Fountain Strategy, which skips the Jungle. If this is too difficult, grind Monkey NPCs in Jungle until Level 20, then Gorilla NPCs until Level 25, then the The Gorilla King boss until Level 35, then Pirate NPCs in Pirate Village until Level 45, then Brute NPCs until Level 55.
  • Level 55–90: Grind the Chef boss in Pirate Village until Level 90, skipping the Desert.
  • Level 90–130: Grind Snow Bandit until Level 105 in Frozen Village, then the Yeti boss until Level 130.
  • Level 130–220: Grind the Vice Admiral boss in Marine Fortress until Level 220, skipping Lower Skylands entirely, as it is inefficient for grinding.
  • Level 220–350: Grind all bosses in Prison until Level 350, skipping the Colosseum entirely, as it is inefficient for grinding.
  • Level 350–425: Grind the Magma Admiral boss in Magma Village until Level 425.
  • Level 425–500: Grind the Fishman Lord boss in Underwater City until Level 500. This is the fastest and most efficient method for grinding in the First Sea, despite involving extended grinding on a single boss, and also yields significant money.
  • Level 500–625: Grind the Wysper boss in Upper Skylands until Level 625. The Thunder God boss is difficult to defeat and takes time to reach, so it is not recommended around Level 575.
  • Level 625–725: Grind Galley Pirate in Fountain City until Level 725. The Cyborg boss is not recommended here, as it is more difficult to defeat than Galley Pirates. Entering the Second Sea immediately after reaching Level 700 is not recommended, as the Raider in Kingdom of Rose is inefficient for grinding.
Following these steps leads to the Second Sea using the fastest and most time-efficient route.

Pirate Starter Island/Marine Starter Island

There are two starter islands: one for Pirates and one for Marines. Players spawn at the island corresponding to their chosen side.

Both are Lv. 5, with Elemental immunity at Lv. 2. Grouping four at a time and using Melee is recommended. A roughly 50% Melee / 50% Defense split is recommended in preparation for obtaining an Elemental fruit. Grinding until Level 10 is recommended.

Jungle

Note: The Blox Fruit Gacha is located on top of the Jungle temple, above the Saber Expert, on the main Jungle island.

Monkeys must be fought one at a time, as they are spread out. This is somewhat slow but quick to progress through toward Gorillas.

Grouping them together before attacking is recommended.

Ranged moves are recommended. The Gorilla King uses a ground-pound move that briefly stuns nearby players for two to three seconds. This is easiest to manage with a cheap Elemental fruit such as Smoke or Flame (Elemental Immunity does not work on bosses; it only affects attack moves). Standing on the elevated ledge allows the boss to be defeated without taking damage.

Pirate Village

Note: The Dark Step Teacher is located in this area behind a fence and near a tree. The fighting style Dark Step is decent for grinding up until around Lv. 200, though this depends on preference. It costs $ 150,000. The Sword Dealer of the West is also here and sells the Dual Katana for $ 12,000 and the Iron Mace for $ 25,000.

Grouping them together before attacking is recommended.

These are worth farming, as they give around 10,000 more EXP than other options, though they are spread out and take longer to defeat. They use the Iron Mace. Grouping three at a time and attacking is recommended.

This fight can take a while at lower levels. Despite the boss using Chop, sword attacks can still land roughly a third of the time. Melee attacks, using skills or dashing and M1, are also effective.

Desert

Note: This island is efficient to grind through, as it gives significant EXP with 2x codes.

Grouping them together before attacking is recommended. Farming until Lv. 90 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping them together before attacking is possible, but they are far from the quest giver, making farming less efficient.

Frozen Village

Note: The Sword Dealer of the East is located here and sells the Triple Katana for $ 60,000 and the Pipe for $ 100,000.

Note: The Ability Teacher is located in a secret cave here and teaches several useful Abilities in the order: Aura, Air Jump, Flash Step.

Grouping them together before attacking is recommended. Farming these and Yeti until level 120 is recommended.

Skipping these is recommended, as they are spread too far apart to be efficient. If farmed, fighting them one at a time is recommended.

Keeping distance and using ranged or stun attacks is recommended. Yeti functions similarly to an upgraded Gorilla King, with the same ground-pound attack. Farming this boss alongside Snow Bandit until level 120 is recommended. (Elemental does not work against it.)

Middle Town

Note: This island is not intended for general farming, but is notable for the boss that spawns here.

The Saw is a Raid Boss that spawns in Middle Town every hour. Its Raid Boss message reads: "The Saw has spawned! You have 15 minutes to defeat him and possibly get a rare reward!" It drops the Shark Saw sword, which is not considered useful for either PvP or grinding, as it has short range and mediocre moves despite its large size. Elemental does not affect The Saw, since it is a boss. Although listed as level 100, it can typically be defeated around level 50–70 with a Blox Fruit, depending on player skill.

Marine Fortress

Note: The level 750 Greybeard spawns here every six hours. The Raid Boss message in chat reads: "Loud tremors are being heard across the seas..." If the player has a Bisento (in their inventory) when Greybeard is defeated, the message "Something strange has happened to your Bisento..." will appear, indicating the Bisento has become a Bisento V2. Players have 15 minutes to defeat Greybeard before it despawns. Fighting it while still in the First Sea is not recommended, as its health is comparable to Third Sea bosses.

These enemies are relatively easy but far from the quest giver, and only two can typically be grouped at a time, slowing progress. Farming these and the Vice Admiral until level 220 is recommended. They can be lured onto an elevated ledge, since they have no ranged moves.

This boss is difficult for lower levels, as it can deal around 150 damage per hit. Leading it to the left side and down the stairs causes it to become stuck, allowing it to be attacked with ranged attacks from a safe distance. Its Triple Katana flying slashes should be avoided. Elemental does not work against it, since it is a boss.

Lower Skylands

Not recommended to farm on this island.

Note: The Master Sword Dealer is located on the island where quests are taken. It sells the Dual-Headed Blade for $ 400,000 and the Bisento for $ 1,000,000. The Bisento is a relatively strong PvP sword after reaching V2 form (obtained by defeating Greybeard while holding the item), but is not recommended for grinding until the Third Sea.

Note: The Mad Scientist is located at the base of the cloud stairs, behind a floating rock, and sells the fighting style Electric for $ 500,000. This can be upgraded to Electric Claw in the Third Sea, considered one of the best fighting styles for PvP due to its strong stuns.

Note: Skylands can be difficult to grind, especially without an Elemental fruit.

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping them together before attacking is possible, though not particularly efficient.

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping them together before attacking is possible, though not particularly efficient.

Prison

Note: Obtaining Saber at level 200 is recommended, as it is a strong sword. Swan (not to be confused with Don Swan), who uses Spider, is located in the middle of this island. The Military Detective and the Blox Fruits Remover are also here; the Military Detective is required for accessing the Second Sea.

Note: AFK-farming at the Sky Islands can be used to skip this part of the game, as this area is considered one of the most difficult places to grind in the First Sea.

Note: When grinding boss quests, server hopping to only kill bosses is recommended, due to the increased EXP, money, and mastery gained. Grinding bosses and skipping the Colosseum entirely is also viable, since cheesing the bosses makes them faster to defeat.

Not recommended to farm.

This can be inefficient if farmed incorrectly. Grouping the nearest three first, defeating them, then grouping the furthest two and defeating them is recommended; by then, the first group should have respawned. Their respawn time is relatively fast, allowing this to be repeated.

Not recommended to farm.

Grinding these is not recommended, as they are far away; grinding Prisoners until Lv. 220 instead is recommended. If farmed anyway, grouping and defeating two at a time is recommended.

Elemental does not activate against bosses. Players using melee, sword, or fruit M1 attacks can lure it into the building where Swan spawns, get it to walk behind the front wall, then move to the other side and use M1 attacks without taking damage. Otherwise, keeping distance and using abilities is recommended, since it has no long-range attacks.

The same strategy used against the Warden is effective here. Elemental does not activate, since it is a boss.

This is the most difficult of the three prison bosses. Leading it outside and attacking with long-range moves from a distance is recommended. Staying too close should be avoided, as it uses an AoE move that deals significant damage; its Multi-Spider attack can also strike from above even at range, so dodging is important. Elemental does not activate, since it is a boss. Farming all three bosses until level 300–350 is recommended.

Colosseum

Not recommended to farm on this island.

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping three to four together and defeating them is recommended if farmed. Farming until level 300 is recommended; alternatively, boss-hopping the Prison bosses is faster if cheesed.

Not recommended to farm.

Grinding these is not recommended, as they despawn quickly if not attacked and respawn slowly. Grinding Toga Warriors until level 300 instead, in groups of three to four, is recommended, or boss-hopping the Prison bosses if cheesed.

Magma Village

Note: The Soul Cane can be purchased here from the Living Skeleton, hidden on the front-left side of the volcano. Its Z move provides a decent stun and costs $ 750,000. Purchasing Instinct for $ 750,000 in the Upper Skylands is also recommended.

These NPCs have a 50% chance to spawn with Aura, rendering Elemental immunity useless. Using ranged Blox Fruits attacks, such as Buddha with fighting style M1s, or Blade for the sword reflex, is recommended. NPCs with white swords do not have Aura and can be attacked freely by Elemental Fruit users. Defeating the three on the right side, then the two on the left side, and farming until level 330 is recommended. These can be farmed at any level using a long-range attack, as they get stuck at the sides of the bridge. Farming until Lv. 350 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

By this point, obtaining Instinct is useful, since Elemental does not take effect due to the Military Spy's Aura. Grouping four to five together and defeating them is recommended. These enemies spawn with Aura, so keeping distance is recommended, and they can also use Flash Step to close the gap. Farming until level 350, then Magma Admiral alongside them until level 381, is recommended. Alternatively, Military Soldier can be farmed until Lv. 350.

Magma Admiral is a relatively difficult boss, as players can take damage from the lava in the center of the volcano and the boss deals high damage. It throws a large Magma Fist at medium-to-long range and uses Magma Column at close-to-medium range. It has a chance to drop the Magma Blaster. Elemental does not work against it, since it is a boss. Boss-hopping until level 381 is recommended.

Underwater City

Note: Water Kung Fu can be purchased here, behind the boss building in a secret area, for $ 750,000, and is widely regarded as the best early-game fighting style for grinding, especially paired with Buddha. Its upgraded version, Sharkman Karate, is available in the Second Sea and is widely considered the best fighting style for grinding.

Grouping three to four together, using Elemental where possible, is recommended. They are somewhat spread apart. Farming until level 458 is recommended. Their respawn time is relatively long compared to other First Sea NPCs.

Not recommended to farm.

These are spread further apart and can be skipped. If farmed, grouping three to four together and defeating them is recommended (one spawns inside a non-collidable tree and should also be grouped; this is easier to spot with Instinct). Farming until level 458 alongside Fishman Lord is recommended.

This boss is difficult for beginners. Attacking it and leading it toward a window allows continued attacks through the wall. It has two phases and heals to full health entering the second phase. Fruits with strong AoE, such as Flame, Light, Magma, or Ice, are recommended for soloing this boss through the wall. Elemental has no effect, since it is a boss. It has a chance to drop the Trident, recommended for its Z move, which pulls NPCs toward the user. Boss-hopping is recommended, as attacking through the wall makes this quest significantly faster.

Upper Skylands

Note: This is one of the easier areas to grind, since enemies can be grouped effectively.

Effective for farming, as they respawn quickly and six spawn while the quest requires only seven. Grouping all of them together and defeating them at once is recommended. Their jump attack should be watched for, as it can cause attacks to miss. Farming until level 483 is recommended.

Optional.

These are a reasonable option, though farming God's Guard is generally preferred.

Its Bazooka deals significant damage and should be watched for. Dodging continuously and using ranged attacks is recommended. Leading it over the tree root and behind a house causes it to become stuck, preventing its Bazooka from landing; AoE moves can then be used safely. Elemental has no effect, since it is a boss. Farming it alongside Shandas until level 535, then continuing until level 575, is recommended. It has a chance to drop its Bazooka.

Second Area

Not recommended to farm.

If farmed, grouping them together and defeating them is recommended, though this is not the most efficient farming option (a rock can sometimes cause them to get stuck). Farming until level 560 is recommended for players who prefer a change from Wysper.

Not recommended to farm.

Only five spawn, with several obstacles nearby. If farmed, grouping three to four together and defeating them is recommended (dodging periodically to avoid flying slashes if not using Elemental). Farming until level 637 is recommended, defeating the three on the left before the two near Thunder God, since all five cannot be lured together due to obstacles.

Recommended only when using Light with a fighting style, or Buddha.

Light is recommended here, since the respawn point is far from the boss; without Light, the boss is likely to regenerate to full health before it can be reached. A fighting style can also provide sufficient Energy for fast movement. Buddha is effective as well.

Server-hopping Thunder God and Wysper until level 775 is recommended. Players not using Light or Buddha can instead farm Wysper, or Royal Squad as an alternative.

Fountain City

Farming these is recommended, as they can be avoided with an Elemental fruit, though they are difficult to group aside from two on a grassy area. Farming until level 700–800 is recommended. A useful path is defeating the first Galley Pirate at the left of the quest start, then grouping four more and defeating them, then grouping the remaining two.

Not recommended to farm.

These are far from the quest giver. If farmed, using Blade or another fruit is recommended, since Elemental does not activate against them due to their Aura, though Blade activates around level 670 against their Dodge Swords. Farming these, relying on sword or fighting style damage, is more efficient than Galley Pirates since they can be grouped. Grouping four near the bridge and repeating is recommended. Love fruit is also effective against these enemies, since its V move summons a helper that assists with grinding.

Not recommended to farm.

This boss is relatively difficult. Staying at a distance to avoid its close-range and gas attacks is recommended; its missiles can be dodged with Instinct or avoided by dashing away. Staying behind the Franky House and using wall-piercing moves is an effective strategy. Farming this alongside Galley Pirates or Captains until level 700–800 is recommended. It has a chance to drop Cool Shades, considered one of the best First Sea accessories alongside Santa Hat. Using 2x EXP codes here is recommended.

Entering the Second Sea is recommended upon reaching level 700, or level 725 for a faster start.

Reaching the Second Sea marks a significant milestone; grinding becomes considerably easier from here, with access to more content and options.

Unlike the First Sea, where the Easy Leveling section had a separate entry for console players, the Second Sea and Third Sea Easy Leveling sections do not have separate console entries, since the platform differences here are minor. The console-specific level ranges are instead noted within the general sections.

Description

This strategy can be used to quickly level up and reach the Third Sea.

Following these steps leads to the Third Sea using the fastest and most time-efficient route.

Kingdom of Rose 1st Area

Not recommended to farm in this area.

Optional, but not particularly recommended.

Raiders are spread apart and do not reward enough EXP for the effort required, though eight spawn and the quest requires eight. Their quick tackle attack makes them somewhat difficult to farm, as it can dodge attacks unless Elemental or Buddha V2 is used. If farmed, grouping and defeating two at a time is recommended. Farming until level 750 is recommended.

Recommended for farming. Mercenaries may spawn in two separate groups far from the quest giver, but grant more EXP per second than Galley Pirate in the First Sea. Their old Pipe X move can send players flying, so air-camping them is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

Diamond spawns atop Flower Hill. Beneath it, through a non-collidable secret door, is Arowe, who upgrades the player's race to v3. Diamond has three moves: a small flying slash sent at the player, a close-range multi-slash release, and a slam attack that teleports it to the player. Using long-range moves and continuous dodging is recommended, as its attacks are avoidable. It drops the Longsword, which shares two of its attacks. Due to its distance from the quest giver and difficulty, farming it is not recommended. Elemental does not affect it, since it is a boss.

Kingdom of Rose 2nd Area

Effective for farming; grouping four to five together is recommended. Farming until level 925 is recommended. Elemental activates at level 793. A useful mastery/EXP farming strategy involves standing between the spawn points of two Swan Pirates, since both will target the player simultaneously; this is useful when using an auto-clicker with a Sword, Fighting Style, or Fruit Sword such as Ice or Light. Using 2x EXP Codes is recommended, given the time spent here.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies are too spread apart and do not reward enough EXP. They also use fruits (Bomb, Spike, Smoke) that can harm Elemental users, so farming Swan Pirates instead is recommended. If farmed, fighting one at a time until level 897 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

Jeremy is not an efficient EXP or money farming boss, due to its distance from the quest giver, and is mainly relevant to the Colosseum Quest, which requires freeing trapped gladiators. Staying at long range with fruit or sword attacks is recommended, or staying outside its walk range to force it to teleport back before attacking again with ranged moves. It only uses close-range attacks β€” Spring Snipe and Spring Cannon β€” so staying at range avoids them. Elemental does not affect it, since it is a boss. It drops the Black Spikey Coat, a useful accessory for early Second Sea farming. If farmed, doing so alongside Swan Pirates until level 925 is recommended.

The Kingdom of Rose covers the first 197 levels of the Second Sea (175 without Elemental).

Green Zone

Not recommended to farm on this island unless using Buddha.

Not recommended to farm.

Marine Lieutenants are spread apart. If farmed, defeating two near the quest giver, then two at the farthest point, is recommended. Farming until level 976 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies have Aura, allowing them to hit Elemental users. Farming them is possible using Blade, relying on Sword or Fighting Style damage. Farming until level 976 is recommended, using the same approach as Marine Lieutenants.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Orbitus is a difficult boss that uses two moves from the old Gravity fruit: Gravity Push and Meteor Rain. Gravity Push is used at close-to-medium range and is difficult to avoid without high speed. A purple beam shot into the sky signals Meteor Rain; dodging backward a fair distance and using ranged attacks is recommended. It drops the Gravity Cane. Farming it alongside Marine Lieutenants until level 976 is recommended, particularly for Buddha users. Elemental does not affect it, since it is a boss.

Graveyard

Grouping five to six together and farming them until level 1028 is recommended. Using Creation makes this straightforward, since Zombies do not use attack moves.

Not recommended to farm.

These are too spread apart to be efficient and can use Flash Step. If farmed, defeating the three on the left, then the two on the right, then the same three again is recommended, retaking the quest and repeating. These NPCs also drop Vampire Fang. Farming until level 1028 is recommended.

Snow Mountain

Grouping five to six together and farming them until level 1132–1150 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies have two attacks capable of stunning Elemental users, which can lead to dangerous situations, and they are also fairly far from the quest giver. Farming until level 1132 is recommended overall, using Snow Trooper instead. Elemental activates around level 1080. If farmed anyway, grouping three to four at a time is recommended.

Don Swan's Mansion

Note: The combination for the Colosseum Quest is located on the table by the bed in the Mansion. This area is inaccessible until the Colosseum Quest is completed and the player reaches level 1000. Defeating Don Swan for the first time unlocks the Guardian and access to upgrading race to v3.

Don Swan is accessed by giving Trevor a fruit worth $ 1,000,000 or more. He uses Spider across two phases. The first phase is relatively easy, using only two moves: a close-range Multi-Spider attack in an X shape, and Ultimate Thread. In the second phase, he attacks more frequently and deals more damage, adding a third move β€” an awakened Ultimate Thread that splits into three parts β€” along with Overheated Sniper. He has a chance to drop Swan Glasses, widely considered the best Second Sea accessory, and always grants the Guardian upon defeat. Elemental does not affect him, since he is a boss.

Hot and Cold

Not recommended to farm on this island unless using Buddha.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha V2.

If farmed, grouping all five together and defeating them is recommended. Farming until level 1211, or 1150 for non-Elemental users, is recommended. Buddha V2 is efficient against these enemies, since it is immune to their first move; farming them with Buddha is recommended primarily as a change of pace from Snow Troopers.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies can use a smaller Ice Surge and the Glacial Epoch move, both of which can stun and hit Elemental users, so fighting them is not recommended. They can still be more efficient to farm than Lab Subordinates, since they are closer together; air-camping is recommended, as their ice moves are ground-based. Farming until level 1211 is recommended, in groups of three to four if farmed.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

This boss fights in a small area. Getting it stuck behind a wall outside and attacking from there is recommended. Its quest gives less money than Jeremy, Diamond, or Orbitus, but considerably more EXP. It has a chance to drop the Flail and can blind the player or close distance using its Smoke fruit. Elemental does not affect it, since it is a boss. Farming until level 1288 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

If farmed, grouping three together, defeating them, then moving to the next group is recommended. Farming until level 1288 is recommended.

Recommended only for Buddha users.

These enemies do not have Aura but have a Magma attack capable of breaking Instinct and hitting Elemental users. Farming Magma Ninja with 2x EXP instead is recommended. Farming until level 1288, defeating one to two at a time, is recommended.

Cursed Ship

Note: A Raid Boss called the Cursed Captain spawns here with a one-in-three chance each night. Its chat message reads: "A shiver runs down your spine..." As with most Raid Bosses, players have 15 minutes to defeat it before it disappears. It is level 1325 and uses the Midnight Blade. It drops ten Ectoplasm per kill and has a small chance to drop the Hellfire Torch (required for the Ghoul race). Every enemy on the ship has a 50% chance to drop one Ectoplasm.

Note: When grinding here with Buddha, unawakening the Z move is recommended, since the awakened form is too tall to pass through some areas (Shift can be used to return to normal form for doorways, then shift back; Flash Step is also useful).

Turning on Fast Mode is recommended in darker areas, as it improves visibility.

Turning left immediately after taking the quest and farming the four nearby Ship Deckhands is recommended. Farming until level 1350–1394 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies spawn with Aura and are far from the quest giver, and only small numbers spawn, extending quest time. If farmed, defeating three at a time is recommended.

Good for farming, since these enemies are close to the quest giver and each other. Defeating two near the door, then three near the fridges, is recommended. Farming until level 1394 is recommended, and this is a good source of Ectoplasm.

Not recommended to farm.

Similar to Ship Engineers, these spawn with Aura and are far from the quest giver. Defeating two to three at a time is recommended if farmed.

Having two to three players present is recommended. A stun move, such as Superhuman Z, Electric C, or Dough Barrage, is useful, though Light V and similar moves also work. Players with awakened Buddha Z can solo this boss even at a lower level. It drops ten Ectoplasm per kill and has a small chance to drop the Hellfire Torch, required for the Ghoul race. Elemental will not affect bosses.

Ice Castle

Note: The Hidden Key can drop from any NPC here (a 5% chance from Awakened Ice Admiral, and 0.5% from other Ice Castle NPCs), while the Library Key only drops from the Awakened Ice Admiral.

Grouping all five together near the middle of the area and defeating them is recommended. Farming until level 1400 for Awakened Ice Admiral, then both until Lv. 1425, is recommended. These can be farmed until Lv. 1473, or server-hopped for Awakened Ice Admiral due to their proximity.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

These enemies have an attack capable of hitting Elemental users, making grouping risky, and they also spawn with Aura, rendering Elemental ineffective regardless. Blade is similarly ineffective, since they can use Ice Surge, which stuns and breaks Instinct. Defeating them one at a time avoids this risk, though this strategy works best for Buddha users due to its fast M1 attacks; the first should respawn shortly after the fifth is defeated. Defeating two to three at a time is possible with Elemental. Buddha users may find this NPC more efficient to farm than Arctic Warriors.

Checking periodically for its spawn while farming Arctic Warriors is recommended. It uses three attacks from its Awakened Ice fruit: Ice Spears at medium-to-long range (which cannot pierce objects, making wall strategies effective), Glacial Surge at medium range, and Absolute Zero at close range. It has a chance to drop the Hidden Key for Rengoku (found in a chest to the right of its spawn point) and the Library Key for Death Step. Farming until Lv. 1473, or Lv. 1425 without server hopping, is recommended.

Forgotten Island

Not recommended to farm on this island.

Not recommended to farm.

If farmed, grouping two to four together is recommended. These are the best option here, since they lack Aura and only use the first move of Water Kung Fu. Elemental fruit users can farm here alongside Tide Keeper from level 1473–1500. Setting a Home Point nearby can speed up quest retaking.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies have Aura and use the X move of Water Kung Fu, and are spread too far apart to be worth farming generally. They are a better option than Sea Soldiers for Buddha users, since they spawn close to the quest giver but in distant groups. Looping clockwise from the quest giver and defeating them one by one is recommended, with the first respawning shortly after the fifth is defeated.

Not recommended to farm.

This is a strong boss that spawns every 30 minutes, with significant health, wielding a Dragon Trident and its associated moves. It can summon a fake Sea Beast with 20,000 health that attacks players. Having at least one other player present is recommended. It can drop a Water Key (needed for Sharkman Karate) and Dragon Trident. Grinding Sea Soldiers while timing a 30-minute check for this boss is recommended.

Welcome to the Third Sea

Port Town is the island where players first spawn upon entering the Third Sea. Its level minimum is 1500, and level 1575 is required to take quests from the next island. NPCs here deal above-average damage, so the grouping method carries more risk, as enemies can attack simultaneously and deal significant damage.

Elemental immunity becomes largely impractical here, as the level required to trigger it is as high as the surrounding enemy levels. Switching to Buddha is recommended for easier grinding. Players who still want to use an Elemental fruit are advised to use Light or Ice for their M1 attacks, or Magma for its high damage.

Description

This strategy can be used to quickly level up and reach max level, 2800.

Following these steps leads to max level using the fastest and most time-efficient route. This section will be updated if the level cap increases or an island is reworked.

Port Town

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha or playing on console.

Pirate Millionaires use skills from Bisento V1, making them tricky to group without taking significant damage. Ranged moves are recommended, along with grouping. Buddha also works well. Grouping two to three together and farming until level 1525 (or level 1700 for Buddha users) is recommended, since Hydra Island enemies and Pistol Billionaires are difficult to farm due to being scattered or far from their quest givers.

Not recommended to farm.

Pistol Billionaires use Musket's skills, including its second move. Their "Tornado Shot" should be avoided, as it can cause a stun-lock. Grouping as many as possible and using AoE or ranged attacks is recommended. Farming until level 1575 is recommended.

Stone deals very high damage at close range. Since it uses the Bomb fruit, it lacks long-range AoE attacks, making it possible to whittle down its health from a distance while avoiding retaliation. Its reduced cooldown on Bomb's first skill allows it to spam that move, so caution is needed while attacking. Boss-hopping it until level 1700, alongside Elite Pirates and Pirate Millionaires, is recommended; grinding Elite Enemies and skipping this island entirely is also a viable option.

Hydra Island

Not recommended to farm on this island unless using Buddha.

Note: This is considered one of the more difficult islands for grinding, though still preferable to remaining in Port Town.

The Dragon Dojo, the Uzoth NPC, the Dojo Trainer, the Dragon Wizard, and the Dragon Hunter can all be found here.

Note: Hydra Island follows Port Town and it is recommended to obtain Buddha here, since the Elemental level requirements increase considerably. The island has two areas: the first gives the quest for Dragon Crew Warrior and Dragon Crew Archer, and the second gives the quest for Hydra Enforcer, Venomous Assailant, and Hydra Leader.

Not recommended to farm.

Dragon Crew Warriors are scattered near the quest giver, making them difficult to group. They deal above-average damage, so fighting without Buddha or Elemental resistance carries some risk. Defeating them one at a time is recommended.

The Dragon Crew Archer uses the Serpent Bow's Z skill. Grinding here is not particularly recommended, due to its ranged attacks and high Elemental requirement, and its distance from the quest giver at the top of the hill, though it still yields worthwhile EXP.

Not recommended to farm.

These spawn in distant groups but can be defeated relatively easily by gaining elevation or using ranged moves. They use the Iron Mace with Pipe's X skill.

Not recommended to farm.

This enemy has Aura and uses a combat Z skill along with the ground-pound move used by Gorilla King and Yeti. Gaining elevation and using ranged attacks is recommended; tanking with awakened Buddha also works.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Hydra Leader is a Lv. 1675 boss that uses the Venom fruit's Z and X skills. Constant dashing to avoid these attacks and using ranged attacks is recommended. With Buddha, this fight is manageable. Launching her with moves such as Superhuman C or Death Step Z/X can create a brief window to regain footing.

She drops the Legendary Gun, Venom Bow.

Grinding Elite Enemies and skipping this island is also a viable option.

Great Tree

Note: Great Tree follows Hydra Island. Obtaining Buddha here is recommended, as the Elemental level requirements are extremely high.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Using Buddha against these enemies, grouped in twos or threes, is recommended. Grinding until level 1775 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

This NPC is good for mastery farming, but is far from its quest giver, making it less efficient for leveling. It can also use the X move of Spin, which stuns and can damage Elemental users even beyond Level 1789.

Kilo Admiral is a Lv. 1750 boss that uses the Kilo fruit alongside Sharkman Karate as melee. It uses Kilo's X and C skills and is easily defeated with Buddha, allowing for a quick level or two during Admiral farming. It also gives $ 35,000, the highest reward from any boss quest besides Beautiful Pirate.

It drops the rare accessory Lei.

Floating Turtle

Not recommended to farm on this island.

Note: Floating Turtle follows Great Tree. Buddha is recommended.

The Mansion and Previous Hero can be found here, along with the Blox Fruit Dealer, Blox Fruits Dealer Cousin, Awakenings Expert, Nerd, Tort, Horned Man, Colors Specialist, and Bounty/Honor Expert. The portal to Castle on the Sea and the leaderboards are also located here, along with trading and chess. (During the Christmas Event, Magic Elf, Greedy Elf, and Santa Claws could be found here.)

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping and defeating them is recommended, farming until Level 1800; this NPC is somewhat inefficient for grinding.

Not recommended to farm.

If farmed, grouping three together and defeating them until level 1825 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

If farmed, doing so alongside the boss quest until Lv. 1900 is recommended. Buddha users can reach Lv. 1900 more quickly by using a 2x EXP code for 20 minutes, available on the Codes page.

Not recommended to farm.

These NPCs are far from the quest giver, making them time-inefficient.

Not recommended to farm.

This boss is difficult to defeat and far from the quest giver. If farmed, doing so alongside Forest Pirates is recommended.

For Buddha users: at this level, switching to a Sword main is recommended, putting all Melee stat points into Sword. A good Energy accessory is recommended, since stamina will otherwise run low; using a Private Server is recommended for this reason. Obtaining Yama first through server hopping before switching to a sword main is recommended, as reaching Mastery 350 on it is one of the main requirements for obtaining Cursed Dual Katana, considered one of the best swords for grinding and PvP. Grinding with it until Mastery 350 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies are spaced too far apart to farm efficiently, though prior quests do not give much EXP for leveling either. Grinding until Lv. 1925 is recommended (this route only applies to Buddha users).

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies are far from the quest giver.

Not recommended to farm.

This boss is difficult to defeat. If farmed, doing so alongside Musketeer Pirates using 2x EXP codes for 15–20 minutes is recommended. Boss-hopping this fight is not recommended.

Note: Entering the Beautiful Pirate domain requires level 1950, or a Flash Step glitch accessible from Hydra Island. The glitch location is in a corner of the room inside the waterfall where Tushita is obtained; defeating the NPC near Yama opens a door on the right side.

Haunted Castle

The Gravestone can be found here. Grinding here until around level 2450 is recommended, since Bones can be collected and rolled for a chance at a 2x EXP boost.

Not recommended to farm.

Grinding this NPC is generally not recommended, due to its distance from the quest giver. If farmed, this is preferable to Living Zombie, since seven spawn very close to the quest giver, and it is also well-suited to AFK farming.

Not recommended to farm.

Only six spawn and take a long time to respawn, and this NPC is also far from the quest giver.

For Buddha users: at level 2000, sword mains should consider unlocking Tushita (obtained by searching for Indra on the Blox Fruit Discord server; the search is faster with at least one Rumble, Buddha, Blizzard, or Shadow, or any more expensive fruit) and grinding it to Mastery 350 for Cursed Dual Katana, one of the best grinding and PvP swords, if Mastery 350 has not already been reached on Yama. Using 2x EXP codes is recommended.

Farming with 2x EXP codes for 20 minutes is recommended, which can reach Lv. 2075 quickly.

(Note: These NPCs have a glitch where using a move on them can push them into or through a wall. Using Instinct to check whether they are inside or outside the building is recommended; if inside the wall, moves will still deal damage, but M1 attacks will not land. This tends to occur when their health is low.)

Useful only for farming Bones, not for leveling.

These NPCs are primarily useful for farming Bones. They are far apart from each other, so farming them for levels specifically is not recommended.

Peanut Land

Farming with 2x EXP codes for 20 minutes is recommended, which can reach Lv. 2125 quickly.

Farming is recommended. Using 2x EXP codes for 20 minutes can reach at least Lv. 2150.

Ice Cream Land

Reasonable for farming, since these enemies are close to each other and to the quest giver.

Not recommended to farm.

Respawn times are too long to be efficient, and this enemy is generally more difficult to grind.

Not recommended to farm.

If farmed, doing so alongside Ice Cream Chef with 2x EXP codes is recommended.

Cake Land

For Buddha users: by this point the player will be around level 2200. Reaching 350 mastery on Yama and Tushita is recommended, in order to begin working toward Cursed Dual Katana, a strong grinding sword, especially when paired with Buddha.

Grouping all seven together and defeating them is recommended. Without Buddha, defeating them one at a time is recommended. Farming here is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies are spread further apart; Cookie Crafters are a better alternative.

Grouping two together and defeating them, then grouping the remaining three closest to the sea and defeating the one near the rock, is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies are notably stronger than others on the island and are immune to Elemental immunity, so continuing to grind Cookie Crafters or Baking Staff instead is recommended, as the EXP and money bonus here is minimal by comparison. If farmed, grouping three on one side, defeating them, then repeating on the other side is recommended.

Note: Enemies here spawn close together, so a large-AoE fruit such as Blizzard can be especially efficient.

Chocolate Land

Only five Cocoa Warriors spawn, which slows progression when combined with respawn time, though this NPC is otherwise decent for leveling.

Not recommended to farm.

Far from the quest giver. If farmed, defeating two, then the rest, then the first two again once respawned, is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

These enemies can spawn stuck in the ground, which can complicate grouping, and can also move away, making them harder to grind.

Defeating one at a time is recommended. Farming here is recommended.

Candy Cane Land

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Grouping three together and defeating them is recommended.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

The same approach as Candy Pirates is recommended.

Tiki Outpost

Not recommended to farm on this island.

This area is generally not recommended for grinding, since numerous obstacles, combined with lag from rain textures, make movement slow and grinding inefficient. If grinding here regardless, farming only Isle Champions is recommended, since their spawn rate and efficiency make them the best option available. Participating in Sea Events is an alternative for late-game progression, providing levels, mastery, and materials for upgrading weapons, fighting styles, and boats; while EXP gain is slower this way, many players find it a more enjoyable method of progression.

Level Range: 2450–2600

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping three together, defeating them, then grouping the remaining two is recommended. Farming until Level 2525 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping two at a time, leaving the last one alive, is recommended. Farming until Level 2525 is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

The same approach as Isle Outlaw is recommended.

Not recommended to farm unless grinding is preferred on this island specifically.

Defeating the one closest to the quest giver, then grouping two on the middle platform, then two on the bottom platform, is recommended.

At level 2550, grinding becomes considerably more difficult, since few walls remain to grind without a Blox Fruit. Sea Events are a recommended alternative for late-game grinding (Level 2550–2600), offering levels, mastery, and useful materials for upgrades, fighting styles, weapons, and boats; they are generally faster than manual grinding here unless Buddha is used.

Not recommended to farm.

The same approach as Isle Champion is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

Grouping three together and defeating them, then grouping two and defeating them, is recommended.

Submerged Island

Not recommended to farm on this island unless it has already been unlocked by defeating Tyrant of the Skies.

This island may be somewhat easier to grind than Tiki Outpost, but accessing it requires defeating Tyrant of the Skies, a raid boss considered extremely difficult. Players who reach Level 2600 without unlocking this island should continue grinding in Sea of Treats or Tiki Outpost until max level.

For players who have unlocked this island:

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Enemies here can get stuck to the ground easily. If farmed, grouping three together, defeating them, then grouping two and defeating them, is recommended.

Grouping four together and defeating them, then grouping three and defeating them, is recommended. This is a better alternative than Reef Bandit and very efficient for farming until Max Level.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Enemies spawn in distant groups. If farmed, grouping four together, defeating them, then grouping three and defeating them, is recommended.

Not recommended to farm.

Far from the quest giver. If farmed, grouping four together, defeating them, then grouping three and defeating them, is recommended.

Grouping five together and defeating them, then grouping three and defeating them, is recommended. Farming here is recommended.

Not recommended to farm unless using Buddha.

Enemies spawn close together here, increasing the risk of defeat. If farmed, grouping five together, defeating them, then grouping three and defeating them, is recommended.

Reaching this point marks max level. Players can then focus on PvP, or continue with their current fruit if a future level cap increase is expected. This section will be updated to reflect any such changes.
