GoBloxy GoBloxy GAME WIKI

Shark

Shark (formerly known as Fish) is one of the four races available to new players when joining the game for the first time. It has a 12.5% chance of being assigned at initial spawn.

The Shark race provides significant damage reduction and allows the user to swim in water without taking damage, making it highly defensive. It is recommended for players participating in sea events for the first time without the Leviathan Shield accessory or for first-time bounty hunting. Shark is strong against one-shot combos, but its mobility and damage output are lower than other races, making it less suitable for advanced play.

Obtainment

Stage Method

V1
The player has a 33% chance (25% if the player is Ghoul, Draco or Cyborg) to obtain Shark when changing their race, which can be done in three different ways:

V2
Completing the Alchemist's Quest. To take this quest, the player has to have completed the Colosseum Quest.

V3
Completing arowe's Quest, which varies depending on the race. Shark's V3 quest is:

The quest must be taken upon joining a new server, as it will reset.

V4
Completing the Temple of Time puzzle, then doing the Trial of Water.

Changes of Stages

Each stage will give additional buffs and make visual changes to the player's avatar.

Stage Buffs Visual changes Image

V2
Increases the player's speed in and out of water, as well as completely removing damage taken from water as a Blox Fruit user. No visual changes.
V3
Unlocks an ability named Water Body. While activated:
  • Decreases damage taken from players and NPCs by around 70%. Lasts for 4.5 seconds with a universal 30 second cooldown that begins immediately upon activation.
Gives the player two extra fins on both their arms. Can have clipping issues.(Works best with a cubic avatar.)

V4 unlocks different abilities depending on what "Gears" are put in. For more information, please refer to Race Awakening.

Ancient Powers:
  • Upon transforming, receive max stats as well as increased damage, speed, and health regeneration by 10%.
Leviathan's Armor:
  • Gain overflow that regenerates by dealing damage (regenerates less when dealing damage on NPCs).
    • The overflow blocks 85% of the damage dealt to the user.
    • The overflow's health can go up to 30% of the user's max health (Although the leviathan armor ratio is equivalent to 21% HP, the actual amount of armor is around x1.43 times the displayed ratio).
The Health bar.

The Health bar.

Upgraded version:
  • The overflow capacity is increased. The overflow regeneration is increased greatly as well
    • The overflow's health can go up to 50% of the user's max health (same thing when the overflow amount seems to be 35%, but the actual amount is up to 50%).
    • The Overflow regenerates more upon dealing damage (up to 2/3 damage dealt will be converted to overflow).
The Health bar

Whirlpool:
  • Hits apply a water debuff on enemies, slowing their speed, reduce enemies' defense by 5%. Speed debuff effect stacks Up to around 40% reduction of their speed.
Upgraded version:
  • The whirlpool debuff now lasts longer (3s -> 5s) and can stack up to 60% reduction.
Visual changes:
  • The player grows an extra tail-like fin. All fins, as well as the player's hair, turn white while transformed.
  • The player gains a blue aura/layer if they use Leviathan's Armor.

Overview

Pros
General
  • Water immunity (or damage reduction for V1).
  • Can give a high damage reduction (especially with Awakened Buddha + Water Body).
  • Great for PvP beginners.
Water Body (V3)
  • Good for enduring attacks or combos, virtually rendering a combo useless.
Leviathan's Armor (V4)
  • Useful against teamers, spammers or trappers for surviving combos.
Whirlpool (V4)
  • Very useful against runners.
  • Makes enemies easier to aim.
  • Decreases enemies' defense, making them more vulnerable.

Cons
General
  • Ice's Frost Walker passive, Awakened Magma's Magmatic Feet passive, Awakened Buddha's [Z] (Shift), Awakened Dough's [F] (Scorching Donut), Kitsune's Transformation, Gas's Transformation and Yeti's Transformation can walk/roll on water, rendering Shark's passive abilities not that useful. However, it still protects from being dragged underwater with these fruits.
  • Crossing oceans can be faster with air dashing + use of mobility skill than swimming.
  • Non-Blox Fruit and Leviathan Shield users might not benefit from the water immunity.
  • No movement buff, which makes the player sluggish.
  • Considered to be outclassed by several other races in the community. (After being nerfed)
Water Body (V3)
  • Some longer combos can easily counter.
Leviathan's Armor (V4)
  • Can be ignored by Lava but somehow takes around half damage and survives longer without reducing overflow.
Whirlpool (V4)
  • Less useful against enemies that are not running or air campers.

Notes

  • The V1 extra swim speed is faster than the Dinghy, but slower than the Sloop.
  • If the player has put 0 stats in defense, the passive of V1 will make it so you take 1 damage, and the player's health will be stuck at 99/100 hp. Note that this will only work with no defense and also no health-buffing accessories
  • The V2 swim speed is slightly faster than the Brigade.
  • The Leviathan's Armor effect will sometimes surround the user with a blue aura or a blue layer, depending on the avatar the user is using.
  • The Leviathan's Armor aura/layer will get brighter when the overflow bar decreases and disappear when it is gone.
  • Leviathan's Armor can be considered as the only defense that Gravity's upgraded [V], [C] and Piercing enchantment can't ignore, since it's more of a shield that grants the player extra HP than an actual defense buff measured in units such as percentages.
