Shipwright
Shipwright is a subclass that allows the user to repair boats.
Obtainment
To obtain Shipwright, the player needs to talk to Shipwright Teacher. This NPC is locked behind a door, and to unlock the door, the player needs to have completed 50 sea events in total. If the requirement is not met, it will say "How did you make it in here?". Otherwise, Shipwright Teacher will give the player a quest to kill 20 Sharks.
After defeating 20 Sharks, Shipwright Teacher will award the player with a Legendary Scroll. The player must buy this subclass for
3,000.
Leveling
To continue to level up their Subclass, the player has to cut down Trees to get Wooden Plank and use it to repair Boats. Every time they repair a Boat, they may gain some experience for the subclass. Gaining a certain amount of exp causes the subclass to level up. The max level for this subclass is 26.
To upgrade abilities, the player will need Fragments
and Valor
. Valor
can only be obtained in the Third Sea from Sea Events.

Ship Minigame
The Ship minigame is currently the only way to increase a ship's max HP. This minigame is available upon unlocking the Hull Mechanic ability of the Shipwright Subclass.
To access this minigame, the player should stand on the red circle indicated in the screenshot below on a boat while repairing. (Note that the player will need at least upgrade Hull Mechanic once to see the red circle.)
Then, repair (hold) and release when the orange bar lands on the smaller green bar as shown in the screenshot above. The player has to do this 4 times to get a perfect score and increase the ship's HP and max HP by a greater number. If the player releases when it’s green, a "ping" sound will come, indicating the player has done it properly. The player can continue doing this until their boat's max HP is full.
Note that the player's HP reward is given after they complete the mini-game one time.
The player could upgrade this ability by talking to the Shipwright Teacher and upgrading the "Hull Mechanic" ability.
Tips
- When the player needs Wooden Planks, they can go to Castle on the Sea, Port Town, or Hydra Island and destroy the trees in front of the spawn area.
- Many abilities are good for farming planks, such as:
- Skull Guitar [X] El Diablo and [TAP] abilities, Bazooka or Cannon can be used as an alternatives.
- Saber [Z] Deadly Rush, because of its long range.
- Shark Anchor [Z] Typhoon Toss.
- Awakened Dough (all moves) and Buddha (all awakened moves except [F] Retribution Dash (also includes Seismic Jump passive)).
- Dragon [C] Scorching Downfall.
- If the player wants to level up their Shipwright Class, they can sail with a 2500 health boat (ex. Grand Brigade) and when Sharks are attacking the boat, let them attack and repair it as they are attacking.
- Do note that Sharks do 10 damage per hit, so it is key to manage the boat's health wisely.
- (Alternative) Since Cyborg’s V3 ability reduces the max health of the boat very quickly, the player could use another account (or a random friend) to have two boats and damage their main boat while the player repairs it.
- When leveling up Shipwright, it is important to know that the player will gain 4 EXP per 1 hp healed (i.e., 10 health healed is equal to 40 EXP, 22 health healed is equal to 88 EXP, etc.)
- If the player gets a perfect score in the boat minigame, the player's ship HP reward will be doubled. (+240 HP and +32 max HP)
Trivia
- After defeating the Leviathan, the Beast Hunter ship from the raid cannot be repaired.
- The player can repair without holding if they click a button from the menu while repairing.
- Any object with Destructible Physics has a chance of dropping wood, not just trees.
- Near the entrance of the Shipwright room, there are words to the right of the room saying "50", explaining that the player must complete 50 Sea Events to enter the room.
- This can be checked quite easily. If the player has the Abyss Tamer title, which is obtained by completing 50 sea events, the user will be able to buy the Shipwright subclass.
