Yama is a Legendary sword.

Yama is an excellent support sword in PvP, with its [X] Infernal Hurricane being able to break Instinct, allowing the user to create powerful and unescapable combos. In competitive areas, its [Z] Hellish Slash is used to ragdoll the user in order for them to use movement glitches with Skull Guitar's [M1] attacks, providing insane mobility.

Getting both Tushita and Yama to 350 mastery and being Lv. 2200 or higher will grant the player access to do the Cursed Dual Katana puzzle and to obtain the Cursed Dual Katana once they have completed the puzzle.

Obtainment

Yama can be obtained by completing the Yama puzzle.

Upon equipping Yama, the user will be given the Demon Mode title #162.

Overview

Pros
General Both moves have good mobility. One of the best swords for traveling. Both moves have a pretty short cooldown. Good combo potential. Easier to obtain than Tushita. Both moves have AoE, meaning that they can hit multiple targets at the same time. Can combine both moves with the Skull Guitar click-speed glitch, making this sword have extremely good mobility if used correctly
[Z] Hellish Slash Long range. Decent mobility. Can ragdoll the user (guaranteed with bugged avatars), allowing for Skull Guitar boosting.
[X] Infernal Hurricane Decent stuns. Good range. Good combo starter and extender.

Cons
General Blade users are immune. Must complete at least 20 Elite Hunter/Player Hunter quests. (30 quests for a 100% chance, highly recommended to do so.) Lower damage than average compared to other swords at Third Sea and Second Sea. Dashes on the fourth M1. All moves can be Instinct-tricked.
[Z] Hellish Slash Small hitbox, which makes it harder to hit if transformed with Buddha. Not good for combos because this move does not break ken in any way.
[X] Infernal Hurricane Slight startup and endlag, but insignificant. Extremely low damage, even when compared to its M1s.

Trivia

In Buddhism, Yama is the King of Hell, named after Yāma — the third of the six heavenly worlds in the desire realm.
- The sword could also be named after the Yamadharma Raja (Yama in short), the god of death and justice in Hindu mythology.
- It could also be referencing the Japanese term for mountain, 山（やま）which is pronounced "yama"
Yama is one of the two cursed katanas, the other being Tushita. Together, they are capable of making the Cursed Dual Katana.
There is no level requirement to get Yama, unlike Tushita. However, the player will still need to be at least Lv. 1500 in order to get into the Third Sea, where it can be obtained.
It is recommended to grind Elite Pirates on a private server or server hop for them. This is because in public servers Elite Pirates can be easily killed before the player comes to their place by other players or some hackers because some scripts have the option “auto-farm elite.”
The player does not lose their Elite Hunter's progress upon failure to pull out Yama.
[Z] Hellish Slash can be used to glitch through walls.
- Example: Using this move while aiming for the entrance of King Toad's House next to the Awakenings Expert (in Second Sea) will glitch the user into the room.
When [X] Infernal Hurricane is used on top of the stairs that the Aura Editor is on, the user will glitch into an empty area.
[X] Infernal Hurricane can cause other players to get flung if they use a momentum skill into it.
